Together Benefit ConcertThe San Bernardino Valley College Foundation presents "Together", A benefit concert to provide full scholarships to economically disadvantaged students. Proceeds from this concert benefit the Valley Bound Commitment that will offer scholarships to qualified local high school students to attend college. Dedicated to the memory of legendary R&B singer Al Wilson![]() An overwhelming outpouring of love and support for legendary R&B singer Al Wilson comes as no surprise to the music industry. Wilson, who passed away on Monday, April 21st 2008, was to perform at SBVC's "Together" benefit concert on May 3rd in support of the new Valley-Bound Commitment. His friends have come "together" from coast-to-coast to join us in paying tribute to the memory of Al. If we were to extend the "Together" benefit concert to six hours in order to accept the invitations of all of the recording artists that want to donate their performances in memory of Al Wilson, it still wouldn't be enough time. The outpouring of love and support following the untimely death of Al is remarkable. Because we simply do not have enough time to accept all of the generous invitations, we have settled on five additional bands to perform at our concert. Each of them were close to Al during his illustrious recording career. This tremendous tribute to a tremendous man will also include the Wilson family. His wife (Patty) and son (Tony) will join us for the reception and concert along with many other members of Al's family. Patty and Tony will accept, on Al's behalf, the SBVC Alliance for the Arts Hall of Fame trophy. One of the most touching moments will occur during the concert when the bands collaborate on a special performance of Al's platinum song ... Show and Tell.
